Oh dear god, this is lovely. The prose is stunning and I love how the descriptions become simpler and bleaker as more and more tails manifest, which is how it would be with his decreasing conscienceness.
Loved this: 'Three tails. This is the limit of your control and the Kyuubi's bloodlust taunts you, dangling power just beyond your reach. Your eyes are sharper, pupils red, and you can hear the clicking of puppets' joints and the sand-and-mud absorbing the blows. Chakra boils around you and you know that weapons cannot make you bleed now.'
I was just wondering - has Naruto lost control, or is he willing to submit to the Kyuubi again to protect what he loves - which would be terribly sad, given his recent attempts to forgo use of its power? ):
